Brandon Vera: Im back baby I almost died

Following a loss to Thiago Silva, Brandon Vera was cut by the UFC. When abnormalities arose in Silva’s pre fight drug test, Vera was reinstated by the UFC, an experience Vera likens below to rebirth.
“I don’t want to take anything away from anybody who’s gone through it, because I know people who’ve gone through cancer, or some kind of disease or trails and tribulations in their life where they’ve almost died and have been brought back and they changed their life. That’s kind of like where I am at now. I was on my deathbed, they pulled the plug. I died. I’ve been resuscitated. I’m back baby. It’s a good feeling.”
“It changed my whole outlook on life. I remember sitting at home, watching my TV; just thinking what am I going to do now. I was unemployed. I got fired from the UFC. I sat there probably for a week, maybe two weeks just sitting there. I really didn’t have no plans. What else am I supposed to be doing but fighting? How could I let my job, my love, stop. How could I have let it slip away from me? You don’t realize what you’ve got till it’s gone. And I got a second chance; they gave it back to me. So I’m going to take full advantage. Refreshed, renewed and I’m back.”

Great news! Brandon Vera deserves to be in the UFC. It’s definitely their loss when they cut Vera. UFC needs top notch strikers who comes to fight… fighters who can deliver!
