Jon Jones thinks Shogun is too old and too old school for him. This guy has really grown a set of balls all of a sudden hasn’t he?
“In order to ever become a legend, you have to beat a few of them. I feel as if this is definitely is a huge step in the right direction. There’s a quote that I love, it says “our biggest fears is not that we’re inadequate but that we’re powerfully beyond imaginary”,which means to me, the crazy things that happen just go after it.”
“Taking a fight on six weeks notice means it would be scary if I wasn’t training here at Jackson’s MMA. The focus on a new strategy, new tactics and you’re studying a different animal. So I’m excited. I have faith in the people who are training me, to fight one of the pound for pound best fighters in the whole world.”
“His strength is that he’s a well round mixed martial artist, he can do it all. His jiu-jitsu is solid, his take downs are solid, his striking is pretty solid. So I just have to keep my hands up and go out there and have fun and flow and do what I do. I believe in myself and I believe in my coaches. I think we can strike with him. I think we can roll with him, we can wrestling with him.”
“I envision just being too big, too fast, too new school. I think I’m going to be a major breath of fresh air that he just can’t handle.”

Jon Jones: Wow this whole experience is such a dream come true @UFC I LOVE YOU – “My goal is to be considered the best light heavyweight fighter in the world,” Jon Jones said. “I feel as if it’s my time. My confidence is already high and I’m already in shape and I have to make myself even better. I can’t wait for this opportunity.”
Shogun Rua: “I’ve been training hard for a fight on this date and I was prepared to fight Rashad,” Mauricio Rua said. “I face this new challenge as motivation to train even harder. I’m a fighter and I don’t pick opponents. I’ll be ready for Jon Jones.”

Seems like he is starting to get a little too cocky and is letting the hype get to his head. I rewatched the bader fight. Let me tell you Jones is not NEAR the level of a striker Shogun is. He has alot of holes in his striking. One of which is leaving his left leg wide open for Shoguns devesstating kicks. He mentons he will “flow” with the fight. When Shgun is 100% nobody puts pressure on like he does. This makes it very difficult to “flow” during a fight. I like Jones but I don’t think he realizes that even a Shogun at 50% (coleman and Grifin fight) is not an easy fight. He needs to realize he is fixing to be in for the fight of his life.
